Meet Our Board

At Help[H]er, the board of directors is the heart of our nonprofit. These passionate individuals are united by a profound desire to help victims and survivors in Christian organizations. Each board member brings a unique perspective and a personal commitment to our mission. Together, they cultivate innovative ideas and strategize a compelling vision for our future, ensuring that every decision we make furthers our impact and drives meaningful change.

LISA

MENCHINGER

Lisa and her husband Fritz live in Charlotte, North Carolina. They have three adult children and six grandchildren. Lisa has served as a Children’s Ministry Director and in Women’s Ministry at her home church in New Jersey, as well as on the Women’s Leadership Team and as a trainer for an Advocacy Ministry at her previous church. Currently, Lisa and Fritz attend Church of the Redeemer in Monroe, NC. Fritz is an ordained ruling elder in the PCA. Lisa has been studying and teaching the Bible for 30+ years. She loves advocating for women in crisis, and mentoring women. In her spare time, Lisa loves spending time with her grandchildren, walking, decorating, and extending hospitality.

ANN MAREE

GOUDZWAARD

Dr. Ann Maree Goudzwaard is the founder and Executive Director of Help[H]er, a nonprofit ministry committed to produce rich resources, offer comprehensive training, and provide specialized care for women in crisis in Christian organizations. As a Help[H]er® advocate, she works to ensure that women receive compassionate, informed, and scripturally sound care.

Ann Maree holds a Doctor of Ministry with a counseling emphasis and is trained in domestic abuse (CTPM) and trauma care (GTRI). She is an author and teacher, and has served as an expert advisor to the PCA Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault (DASA) Ad Interim Study Committee. In her role as Executive Director, she is a leader in developing resources and training programs that equip the church to respond wisely and redemptively to women in crisis.

Ann Maree and her husband, Bob, have been married for 42 years. Together, they cherish their roles as parents to three adult children and their wonderful spouses, and Gigi and Papa to thirteen precious grandchildren.

JULIA

FILLNOW

Julia is a licensed counselor who is certified and specialized in trauma, abuse, and addiction treatment. She has worked in private organizations, community mental health agencies, non-profits, and church counseling centers. She is a member of national professional networks for trauma and addiction therapy and abuse care, and she desires to help build a bridge between the faith and mental health communities. She is particularly passionate about the church’s role and calling to care for the oppressed and heal the wounded. Julia currently works as a therapist in North Carolina. She is married with four children.

HELEN JIMMIE

WEIGT

Helen Jimmie is a survivor and ministry-minded designer who contributes to Help[H]er through creative support and lived experience. Raised in a rural, entrepreneurial family, she brings a unique perspective shaped by resilience, aesthetic vision, and a heart for one-another ministry. She also serves as the ministry’s web admin—building and maintaining the website, managing digital tools, and supporting day-to-day systems. Her hands-on, problem-solving approach brings clarity and function to Help[H]er’s behind-the-scenes work.
