The first volume in the Festivals of Remembrance series, a devotional-journal born out of deep personal crisis and shaped by the book of Lamentations.
Written with both compassion and honesty, it gives language for suffering while gently guiding readers to bring their pain before the God who remembers.
With its combination of biblical depth, trauma-aware sensitivity, and space for personal expression, this volume becomes not just a book, but a companion when words are hard and hope feels far away.
Structured in two-day reflections across thirty entries, it invites lament, prayer, and journaling at a pace that honors wounded hearts. With its combination of biblical depth, trauma-aware sensitivity, and space for personal expression, this volume becomes not just a book, but a companion for seasons when words are hard and hope feels far away.

“As a counselor who walks alongside Christians recovering from trauma, I am always on the lookout for quality resources that help sufferers connect their stories to Scripture. This devotional gently guides readers to the remembering God who sees, hears, and heals their laments.”
— Aaron Hann, Counselor and Abuse Advocate
“In Advent Through Lamentations, Kimrey Dillon delivers a profound and compassionate journey through one of the Bible’s most poignant yet often overlooked books. With remarkable empathy and theological depth, she invites readers to embrace lament to strengthen their trust in God amid suffering. This devotional speaks directly to the brokenhearted, honoring their pain without rushing through grief or offering superficial reassurances. Instead, Dillon gently leads readers into the presence of a God who sees, hears, and remembers—one who enters our struggles and faithfully promises restoration.”
