Remember my Affliction

Remember my Affliction: Advent Through Lamentations by Kimrey Dillon

Introducing Volume One in the Festivals of Remembrance series! This devotional is designed in two day increments. Day one introduces the passage, including a brief reflection. Day two gives an opportunity for the reader to meditate further and apply the passage to their particular situation. This cycle repeats over 30 days.

Remember my Affliction is a devotional, a journal, and an intimate account of the author’s own journey of lament. It can be used personally, as a resource for those who gather, and as a tool in the lay counselor’s toolkit. Remember my Affliction is a 7” x 10” beautifully and professionally crafted hardcover journal worthy of presentation. With its spiral binding, this journal is also easy to use and convenient for daily devotions. We are excited to introduce this first journal in the Festivals of Remembrance series and anxiously await its release this fall.

As a counselor who walks alongside Christians recovering from trauma, I am always on the lookout for quality resources that help sufferers connect their stories to Scripture. This is especially difficult for those aware of the spiritual elements in their trauma and struggle to hear comfort from God. If that describes you, if you bear the wounds of trauma in any form, be assured that this devotional will gently guide you to the remembering God who sees, hears and heals your laments.

Aaron Hann, Counselor and Abuse Advocate

As Christians, we celebrate Communion and remember Him to whom all previous festivals point. But the call to remember God’s covenants, promises, and mighty works persists. The Festivals of Remembrance journal series is a reminder to remember, the most oft commandment in Scripture. Similar to the Israelites of old, Christians do not yet possess the land of promise. It is ours by faith, and we see it from afar. For now, we remain in the wilderness, setting our hopes on the New Jerusalem. Occasionally, we find rest. But often we find ourselves in dangerous terrain, facing sin nature within and predators without. If this is where you find yourself, the Festivals of Remembrance journal series encourages a way to find the way back to rest.

This series is designed to lift our gaze to things above where Christ is (Col. 3:1). In doing so, we connect our real and present circumstances with the God who remembers. The goal is not to ignore suffering. Rather, the purpose of this series is to help us see how the eternal and living God meets us in those very circumstances. Come, let us remember together!
